FHS Award Ceremony at Goudourville Castle

On October 8, 2020, the Château de Goudourville received an international award from the American French Heritage Society for the work carried out over the past 20 years and the upcoming restoration campaign of the Renaissance staircase.



Among those present were Mrs Sarah Ghobadi, sub-prefect of Tarn et Garonne, Mr Gérard Barros, Mayor of Goudourville and the municipal councillors, Mrs Isabelle Vidaillac and Mrs Manon Vidal from DRAC Occitanie, Mr Philippe Gisclard and Mr Gil Renaux, from UDAP 82, Mrs Karen Archer and Mrs Samantha Kohli-Brisolier from FHS, Mrs Françoise de Barrau and Mr Jean-Pierre Lecomte from VMF, and Mr Philippe Gisclard and Mr Gil Renaux from UDAP 82. Gil Renaux, from UDAP 82, Ms Karen Archer and Ms Samantha Kohli-Brisolier from FHS, Ms Françoise de Barrau and Mr Jean-Pierre Lecomte from VMF, the contractors who carried out the work, journalists and members of the public, colleagues and friends.


On this occasion, Mr. Gérard Barros, the Mayor of Goudourville, warmly affirmed the close link between the Castle and the commune of Goudourville: « The Castle of Goudourville is the lighthouse of our commune and all the inhabitants are with you. »


This award highlights, in France and in the United States, the castle and the commune of Goudourville as well as the department of Tarn et Garonne: a video was broadcast in the United States during the New York gala, photos of the castle are published on social networks, FHS Paris has chosen a photo of the castle for their 2021 greeting cards…


So don't be surprised if from time to time you see American heritage lovers visiting our beautiful region. We bet they will appreciate our heritage, our gastronomy and, most importantly, our sense of welcome !
