The Gasques family settled in the Goudourville castellany in 1088 and remained its owners until 1374.
In 1278, Seguy de Gasques, Lord of Goudourville, wrote the customs of the Goudourville castellany setting out the rules governing daily life (marriage, taxes, theft, etc.) in the region.
